This is probably the most common question I get related to www.isdale.com. Isdale is a somewhat uncommon last name. So a little about me and the family name.
Isdale is my last name. It probably comes from Icedahl meaning valley of ice. (Family members have actually met international travelers with the name.)While uncommon - there are a number of families throughout the world with the last name of Isdale.
Most of my immediate family resides in Lousiana and Texas. Legend has it that prior generations lived in Georgia - with one ancestor getting shot in front of his blacksmith's shop when Sherman marched through. (So if your great great grandmother shows up on an 1860ish census in Georgia - we might be distantly related.)
Other Isdale groups that I know about include a group currently in Austrialia.
